What’s in a name?

Analytical Psychology is the name that C.G. Jung gave to his particular form of analysis and psychotherapy, partly to describe the distinctive views he developed (see Analytical Psychology) and partly to distinguish it from what Sigmund Freud called psychoanalysis.

The training at the SAP integrates Jungian and post-Jungian ideas with those of psychoanalysis and other developments in analysis and psychotherapy (such as attachment theory and the recent developments in neuroscience). Our name reflects the core position of Jung’s work.
