This unique course is designed for practising clinicians (psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and counsellors) who wish to deepen their clinical understanding and are particularly interested in the Jungian approach practised at the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP).
- Course Convenor: Lara Lagutina
The workshop will explore specific manifestations of transference and countertransference
that we encounter in our consulting room. A special focus will be on the
somatic expressions of countertransference, in relation to so-called
“un-repressed unconscious” and proto-mental contents that are still unthinkable,
as well as to how and when the transference can and should be interpreted
according to specific clinical situations and different therapeutic settings,
via the accurate working through of the countertransference. The workshop will be particularly focused on
the ways a mind can be developed out of unthinkable elements.
The workshop will explore manifestations of
obsessive-compulsive behaviours and their interrelatedness with depression and
thinking disorders, as well as of phobias and anxiety.

A modular CPD clinical training course in working with 18-25 year olds
With limited therapeutic services available to this transitional age group in the UK, there is increasing pressure and demand on therapists in private practice and charities to treat patients within this group. This course has been developed to further the therapist's skill and support when working with this challenging developmental stage.
