Presented by Professor Sonu Shamdasani
Professor Shamdasani will present his editorial work on an entirely new edition of Jung’s Collected Works.
As a part of SAP’s 80th year as a Training Society this talk will take place in the SAP Library and online. The SAP is very pleased to have Professor Sonu Shamdasani presenting his thoughts on why a new edition of the Collected Works is needed, and his current project of producing an entirely new edition of Jung’s Collected Works.
Professor Shamdasani writes:
From 1954 to the present, The Collected Works of Jung has formed the textual basis of the reading and study of his writings, not just in English, but in other languages, as it formed the template for editions in other languages, including German. This presentation discusses how The Collected Works came about, its shortcomings together with the consequences that these have had, and indicates how these will be addressed in the new Critical Edition, the first volume of which will appear early next year.
