DESCRIPTION:Thinking about Analytic Training in a Changing World\nConvenors
 : \n\nJan Wiener\, Richard Mizen\, Catriona Wrottesley\n\n\n\nAims\n\nThis
  conference organised by the Society of Analytical Psychology aims to exam
 ine the basic assumptions that inform approaches to training in its differ
 ent aspects. These can be conscious but are often affected by unconscious 
 forces that reflect a conflict in training institutes and their members be
 tween the wish to grow and develop on the one hand and a reluctance to fac
 e the change and loss this involves\, on the other.\n\nThis international 
 online conference brings together people from analytic institutes across t
 he world\, with a shared interest in training but who may have different v
 iews and orientations.  The themes that will be explored include:\n\n 	Th
 e role and teaching of theory.\n 	Attitudes to our methods of work and the
 ir relevance in a contemporary world.\n 	Cross-cultural aspects of trainin
 g.\n 	What we expect candidates to know and how we assess progress.\n 	Una
 ccountable power and prejudice in our institutes.\n 	Personal analysis: wh
 at is enough?\n\nThis unique conference will take place over three afterno
 ons (UK time) from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 November 2023. Recordings of mai
 n presentations will be available after the conference ends to those deleg
 ates who have registered for the full three days and those who have purcha
 sed access to the recordings separately.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;
