2021 Online CPD Seminar

7 Session Seminar series: “Hidden lands: autistic and psychotic enclaves in ’neurotic’ patients”

Differentiating on a clinical level autistic retreats and psychotic enclaves in non-psychotic or non-autistic patients, and the consequent technical approaches to such specific mental states, is the aim of this seminar. Patients ‘difficult to reach’ or who might present nuclei that look particularly resistant to treatment are the main object of the study group. The group discussions will be strictly focused on case material presented by participants through the detailed analysis of sessions with patients of all ages, children, adolescents and adults. Participants will be asked to present verbatim notes of their sessions.

Dr. Francesco Bisagni MD – NCPsyA is a psychiatrist, a training and supervising analyst of the SAP, a Tavistock-model trained child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and a psychoanalyst of the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis in the US. He is also founder, supervisor and seminar leader of the Centre for the Studies in Contemporary Psychoanalyses in Milan, where he lives and works in private practice with adults, children and adolescents. He has extensively taught in Europe, Russia and the US and published books and articles in the major analytic journals. His latest book is Obsessions: the Twisted Cruelty, published by Karnac in 2017
