Good Companionship versus Envy: What is the ‘Baby in the Adult’ looking for?
Clinical challenges between Trevarthen, Klein, Bion and Jung
Trevarthen’s researches on the baby’s disposition to pleasurable encounters since intra-uterine life, challenge the technique of the work in the transference on the supposed ‘primary’ destructiveness as postulated by psychoanalysis and – with some differences – by Jung. These seminars are mainly focused on clinical issues, with the aim at deepening and re-defining technical approaches. Selected reading will be recommended in advance of these Reflective Practice Seminars.
