The Self and alien self in psyche and soma

This will be the third event in the JAP series in which selected authors present their papers and provide the opportunity to ask questions and to enter into a discussion.

Participation is free but restricted to psychotherapeutic practitioners.

Dr Susan Mizen is a Jungian Analyst and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists where she chaired the Psychotherapy Faculty Executive between 2014 and 2018. She chairs the Talking Therapies Task Force a collaboration of psychotherapy organisations making the health economic case for investment in intensive psychotherapeutic services for patients with severe Personality Disorder. She developed a psychotherapeutic day and outpatient programme in Exeter as an alternative to locked placements. Her Relational Affective Model is an analytic, neuro-scientific approach to therapeutic work with this patient group. She investigated the model in a neuroscience PhD at The University of Exeter which she has just completed.   She also works in private practice in Exeter as an Analytical Psychologist.
