 \, (17:00 CET\, 11:00 New York\, 08:00 San Francisco)\n\nOver two Saturday
 s\, The Journal of Analytical Psychology is offering an online (Zoom) two-
 part neuroscience workshop\, led by Prof. Erik Goodwyn.\n\nThe first works
 hop will include the following topics:\n\n 	Basics of neuroscience includi
 ng a non-specialist overview of psychobiology\n 	Epigenetics and their rel
 ationship to therapy and the healing arts.\n 	Affective neuroscience in co
 mparison to cognitive neuroscience and how they relate to Jungian theory.\
 n 	Discussion on the current psychobiological understanding of the collect
 ive unconscious as a whole\, and the way in which these various fields of 
 empirical research integrate with that concept.\n\nThe second workshop wil
 l move on to the following themes:\n\n 	Default mode network and literatur
 e on spontaneous thought (including dreams).\n 	Cognitive linguistics and 
 embodied metaphor theory as a new way of looking at archetypal images and 
 narratives.\n 	Jung’s insights not only regarding the function of dreams
  but the character and quality of dream imagery and other spontaneous imag
 ery that allows us to better and more easily interpret such contents in a 
 therapeutic and informative way. This includes active imagination.\n 	Disc
 ussion on how biosciences not only confirm many of Jung's prescient intuit
 ions but can be used to clarify and enrich the process of therapy\, for de
 veloping a rapport between therapist and patient as well as the patient an
 d their unconscious.\n\nThe workshop is open to analysts\, candidates in t

 hiatry.\n\nHe has authored numerous publications in the field of conscious
 ness studies\, Jungian psychology\, neuroscience\, mythology\, philosophy\
 , anthropology\, and the psychology of religion.\n\nHis published books in
 clude:\n\nThe Neurobiology of the Gods: How the Brain Shapes the Recurrent
  Imagery of Myth and Dreams (Routledge\, 2012)\n\nHealing Symbols in Psych

 ypal Ontology\, with philosopher and psychoanalyst Jon Mills (Routledge\, 
 2023).\n\nHe has delivered over 60 lectures\, workshops and essays in peer
 -reviewed journals on the above topics and has been invited to present at 
 conferences on these topics in the US\, Germany\, Italy\, Switzerland and
