SUMMARY:70th Anniversary- JAP Online conference
DESCRIPTION:Controversies &amp\; Contemporary Trends in Analytical Psycholo
gy\n\nONLINE\, 7-8 November 2025\n\nThe first issue of the Journal of Anal
ytical Psychology was published in January 1955. It was dedicated to C. G.
Jung on the occasion of his 80th birthday. While honouring the “truly g
igantic and fundamental nature of Jung’s labours”\, the editorial of t
his first edition states that Jung’s concepts nevertheless “need to be
subjected to scrutiny\, constructive criticism\, and elaboration.” This
objective still holds true. However\, while at the time the opportunity t
o publish articles in the JAP was open to members of the Society of Analyt
ical Psychology only\, the Journal has grown to be one of the leading jour
nals in the field of analytical psychology with an international outlook\,
inviting papers from authors around the globe and hosting an editorial bo
ard and team that reflects a wide variety of cultures and traditions.\n\nI
n 2025\, the Journal of Analytical Psychology will reach the significant m
ilestone of its 70th year.\n\nTo celebrate this anniversary\, the Journal
is organizing a conference to reflect on important past and present contro
versies and contemporary trends. The conference will start on Friday\, 7th
November\, with a look back into the Journal’s history\, its developmen
t over the decades and its present significance. John Beebe\, a former US
editor of the Journal\, has been involved with it for decades and can look
back over many years of its development\, especially regarding its attitu
de towards classical\, developmental and relational approaches.\n\nSaturda
y will be devoted to present-day developments and controversies\, not leas
t the debate on the nature of archetypes\, but will also look at the impor
tance of countertransference in all its manifestations in the consulting r
oom. Speakers will explore the role of affectivity\, implicit memory\, and
attachment and focus on the concept of cultural complexes. All the speake
rs are distinguished experts in these fields and have published articles o
n their topics in the JAP and elsewhere.\n\nThis online conference will al
low participants from around the globe to take part. Recordings will be ma
de available to those who are unable to attend on the day or who live in t
ime zones which are unfavourable to live participation.\n\nPROGRAMME\n\nFR
